The exquisite Berry Bliss Quilt is a delightful addition to our Curved Piecing Collection. An overlay of applique petals form a lattice over the sixteen curved blocks and is an enjoyable project, especially for those who love to cut and stitch by hand.

Stitching curves

Many people are daunted by curved piecing, and yet, it is surprisingly easy. Yes, it’s a little more fiddly than sewing a straight seam, but it is achievable, rewarding and highly addictive.

The Berry Bliss blocks can by stitched by hand or machine and the pattern has full instructions, including the templates to trace and, of course, it’s ready to download so you can start straight away.

Easy applique

The clever use of a fusible interfacing behind the petals makes the applique in this quilt really simple and is a great technique for anyone new to applique. The petals keep their shape and the interfacing secures them onto the block, so stitching them is easier as the interfacing used is very fine and lightweight. It is soft and is fusible on one side only.

Borders

Continuing with the curved theme, the borders are pieced into long strips but don’t be daunted by these borders, they might look tricky but they are doable and totally worth the effort.
